Published on : Thursday, December 2, 2021

Royal Caribbean International takes a wait-and-see approach on mandatory vaccines for kids. Disney Cruise Line and Celebrity Cruises will soon require passengers ages 5 to 11 to be fully vaccinated. On 1st December, Royal Caribbean senior vice president of sales, trade support, and service Vicki Freed said, they don’t make any decisions on the vaccine requirements for children 5 to 11.

Currently, Royal mandates passengers 12 and older should be vaccinated to sail. Kids from 5-11 years old can board with a negative Covid-19 test. On 1st Feb, the celebrity’s new age requirement will kick in. Disney was the first major cruise line to lower its vaccine compulsory to age 5, on sailings departing on or after 13th Jan.

The CDC’s followed Disney’s decisions, on 2nd Nov. approval of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines for children 5 to 11 years old. To board a Disney cruise, children between 2 and 4 years old requires to provide a negative Covid-19 test result prior.
